RE: NOTICE OF INTENTION TO VACATE / TERMINATION OF RESIDENTIAL TENANCY — ________

I refer to the residential tenancy agreement dated ________ between me/us as tenant(s) and you as landlord/agent in respect of the premises at ________ (the Premises).

  1. Notice of termination. This letter constitutes formal written notice of my/our intention to terminate the tenancy and vacate the Premises, given in accordance with the residential tenancy legislation applicable in ________ (being the Residential Tenancies Act or equivalent legislation of that State or Territory) and the terms of the tenancy agreement.
  2. Grounds for notice. This notice is given on the following basis: ________ (for example, expiry of a fixed term, end of a periodic tenancy, or another ground permitted by the applicable legislation).
  3. Termination date. The tenancy will end and the Premises will be vacated and vacant possession delivered up on ________, being a date that provides at least the minimum notice period required under the applicable legislation and the tenancy agreement.
  5. Rent. All rent due under the tenancy agreement has been, or will be, paid in full up to and including the termination date, and there will be no rent outstanding as at the date vacant possession is delivered up.
