RE: CONFIRMATION OF APPOINTMENT FOLLOWING SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF PROBATIONARY PERIOD
§1. Introduction
1.1. We refer to your letter of offer/contract of employment dated ________ (the “Contract of Employment”), pursuant to which you were engaged by ________ (the “Company”) in the position of ________ subject to a probationary period.
1.2. We further refer to our discussion during our meeting held on ________ in relation to the review of your performance during the said probationary period.
§2. Confirmation of Appointment
2.1. We are pleased to inform you that your ________ probationary period, which was due to end on ________, has been completed satisfactorily.
2.2. Having found your job performance and conduct to be satisfactory, and in accordance with the terms of your Contract of Employment, the Company hereby confirms your appointment in the substantive position of ________ with effect from ________ (the “Effective Date”).
2.3. You shall report to ________ and shall be based at ________, save as the Company may reasonably direct from time to time.
§3. Remuneration and Benefits
3.1. With effect from the Effective Date, your annual gross remuneration shall be ________, payable in accordance with the Company’s payroll arrangements and subject to lawful deductions, including the Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) deductions required under the Personal Income Tax Act (as amended).
3.2. You shall continue to be enrolled in the Contributory Pension Scheme in accordance with the Pension Reform Act 2014, and shall be entitled to such other statutory and Company benefits as are applicable to your position.
§4. Continuing Terms and Conditions
4.2. Your continuous period of employment for all purposes, including the computation of length of service, shall be deemed to have commenced on ________.
§5. Notice of Termination
5.1. Following the confirmation of your appointment, the employment may be terminated by either party giving the other not less than ________ written notice, or payment of salary in lieu thereof, in accordance with your Contract of Employment and the provisions of the Labour Act (Cap. L1, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004) where applicable.
§6. Confidentiality and Data Protection
6.1. You shall continue to be bound by the confidentiality obligations set out in your Contract of Employment.
6.2. The Company shall continue to process your personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and its applicable subsidiary regulations, solely for lawful employment-related purposes.
§7. General
7.1. This letter shall be read together with, and forms part of, your Contract of Employment.
7.2. This letter and your employment are governed by, and shall be construed in accordance with, the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
