I am the tenant of the residential premises located at ________ (the "Premises") pursuant to a residential tenancy agreement dated ________ (the "Tenancy Agreement"). I am writing to request, in good faith, a short extension of time within which to remit my rent owing under the Tenancy Agreement.

§ 4. Late Payment Charges. I understand that the Tenancy Agreement contains a provision respecting the late payment of rent. I respectfully request that any late charge, administrative fee, or interest otherwise applicable be waived in these exceptional circumstances. I acknowledge that, under the residential tenancy legislation applicable in ________, a landlord may only charge those fees, interest, or penalties expressly permitted by that legislation and the regulations made thereunder, and that any such charge must be reasonable and lawful.
